Received an email from Craig Sigl of Break 80 this morning and it got me thinking.
How many of us can think outside the established box of thought with which we normally surround ourselves...on and off the golf course?
We've all heard the advice "Think outside the box!" What does it mean? Above anything it means don't let your thinking be contained, or restricted by your environment. There's a big wide world out there if only we will step out of our box and discover what wonderful opportunities there are. It applies to everything we do and it applies to our golf too!
Remember the puzzle to join all nine dots with four straight lines without lifting your pencil from the paper?
and the solution
The beauty of this nine-dot puzzle is that you literally have to "think out of the box" to solve it.
Just because a golf pro or major tournament winner says you have to do XYZ in order to play well, does that mean it applies to every golfer regardless of skill level, body type, etc. etc.?
The point I make is that you was not poured out of a mold; you are a very unique golfer - there is only one of you.
Think for a minute, those repeated calls for you to buy new equipment, get the latest greatest golf balls, or even buy some hot new instruction may not be necessary for you ... or, on the other hand, may be just the thing for you.
All you need to do is begin to think outside the box; to think different than the masses; to consider possiblity rather than necessity.
Maybe you've been stifling your golf greatness all these years and you really do have a career round in you ready to come out this weekend.
You know what, forget the "Maybe"
