A laser rangefinder is a device which uses a laser beam, an intense light source, in order to determine the distance to a reflective object. The most common form of laser rangefinder operates on the time of flight principle by sending a laser pulse in a narrow beam towards the object and measuring the time taken by the pulse to be reflected off the target and returned to the sender. The original handheld consumer priced laser rangefinders were used for golf back in 1987. Since then golf range finders have been developed and refined to enable everyday golfers to accurately measure the distance to an object on the course, be it a flag stick or marker, etc. The use of rangefinders in competition is now permitted by the R&A and USGA.
Bushnell pioneered the golf laser rangefinder, and have developed every technological break-through ever since. It's no wonder Bushnell is the brand of choice for over 90% of PGA, LPGA and Champions Tour Pros.
